TODAY’S STICKS & STONES

A huge HELLO to the Internet Blogging Community.  Yes, I am very new to this and at this stage is feeling my way through everything.  Asking alot of questions to my poor husband, about what I should do where and what is the unwritten rules about blogging - being new I don’t want to step on anybody’s toes and create enemies this early.

My husband’s been bugging me for ages to get with the “plan” and create a blog, and as you can imagine I would find 10 000 excuses why I can’t do it. What will I blog about, where will I find the time, of what use can a blog be - I literally thought that it is something that people do that’s got nothing better to do.  Wow, did I have a bucket of cold water in my face this week!

I took a week’s leave from work to study, and sitting next to my husband in the office (he’s a programmer), I slowly but surely got dragged in by his “cyberworld”.  And of course I was diagnosed with German Measels during this time aswell.  So, on the one hand I really needed to study because of Unisa Exams, and on the other hand I was so interested in the constant “honest” communication between people that knew one another and others that’s getting to know one another.  No faces, no sizes, just damn honest opinions about what people think and feel about different aspects of life.

It sort of reminded me of being able to be yourself without the preconceptions that the people, in “real” life have of you.  Say your say - yes people will disagree but surely they will give their opinion why they disagree!

I have found in my life that sometimes the masks that I’ve been wearing, just gets to much.  From there … “Being everybody to anybody but yourself”.  I’m a working Mom, studying on the side at Unisa, raising two boys - each with their own unique personality traits, working 5 days a week from 8 to 5, a wife, a caretaker, a domestic worker, an entertainer, a chef, a doctor, a teacher, a councilor, a referee (mind you I think I can do a better job than the New Zealand referees), a phychologist - I think my resume is to long for this blog.  Oh, and then there is the fact that you feel to guilty to stay 2 days at home when you’re sick because the I’m putting more pressure on the people at work by not being there to help with the workload.  All these faces - HOW DO YOU COPE WITH EVERYTHING?

So, by putting my heart on “paper” it actually makes you feel better and I can now see why people blog.  Just to be able to put it out there - even if it’s just my poor husband that reads this blog, at least he would be able to have insight into the many faces that woman has to wear in her everyday life.

Thanks Justin - RSS, URI, SEO, URL, ABC, DEF, GHI … I really appreciate it, but doesn’t have a clue what it means. But coming from you, hopefully it’s good. I’ll get Stii to explain, about time he starts working for all the free sex he’s getting.

Thanks for the link - I’ll make good use of it. I think Stii gets a bit irritated with me, because I want everything done yesterday, and he’s totally the opposite. On the matter which one comes first, the computer or the wife … I’ll blog on that - that’s a chapter on it’s own.

And thanks Tertia, I can imagine it being a rough ride, because I just don’t know how you get time for everything.
